1st test – South Africa vs Pakistan – South Africa were clearly favorite for 1st test match against Pakistan. South Africa gave 480 runs target to Pakistan after stopping Pakistan’s first innings on 49 runs. Pakistan started off 2nd innings with comparatively better appearance than first innings. Pakistan’s top order could not contribute well again except opener Nasir Jamshed.

pakistan-vs-south-africa-series-2013Experienced Younus Khan also failed to help Pakistan. Captain Misbah and batsman Asad Shafiq are on crease at the stumps of day 3. Shafiq’s fifty and Misbah partnership gave little hope to Pakistan to come into the field with smile on day 4.

Pakistani fans are still worried about this match and Pakistan need 297 runs more to win this match and 6 wickets in hand. The concern for Pakistani fans is, who will bat and survive after Misbah and Asad.

This is how cricket goes on. Cricket is by chance so we have to stick to day 4 to watch this match, South Africa vs Pakistan 1st test match. South African fans are hoping that South Africa will remove all 6 batsmen of Pakistan on day 4 and wrap up the 1st test on day 4.

The only hope for Pakistan is with the partnership of Asad and Misbah. If this partnership survives, Pakistan hangs on in this test match. If Asad and Misbah make centuries and take the partnership over 220 runs tomorrow then Pakistan can think about victory in this match which is obviously tough to make for Pakistan.

South Africa need  wickets and Pakistan need partnership of the Misbah and Asad’s stand.
